MT. Washington

New Hampshire's beautiful landscapes

We embarked on a 7-and-a-half-hour drive from Yonkers, New York, packed for a weekend of hiking. I carried my digital camera (Canon 5D) and my film camera (Hasselblad) to tackle three of the major hikes that New Hampshire has to offer. Unfortunately, when we reached Mt. Washington, it was covered in snow. After hiking for 2 hours, we found that the ice and snow made it impossible to proceed. Fortunately, we had plenty of other hikes planned for our trip, such as Mount Willard, which offered a vast landscape at the top. Each hike was higher than the last. Next was Frankenstein, a steep hike on the side of a mountain that took a total of 5 hours to complete, with an insane waterfall as a rewarding conclusion. I was grateful to have family with me for each peak, documented with the photos on this page – my brother Brandon and my Uncle Joe.
